Families know how to push your buttons. Especially moms. They either want to give you a hard time as a mom for all the times you gave them a hard time growing up or they just want to say “I told you so!” after you tell them they were right. Right?
Sounds like you feel like you are between a rock and a hard place. What I hear, however is quite the opposite. What do you mean?, you ask yourself. What I mean is you have the power to make changes.
For example, whenever my mother wanted something from me, she would attempt to guilt me into getting it. An argument would always start where she call me every name in the book except my birth name causing me to scream and shout and ultimately hang up on her. What happened next? Well, guilt would set in, I would call her back, apologize and she would forgive me. I couldn’t take it anymore. Something had to change. Something became someone. I felt she had to change or else I would stop talking to her. Well, that’s really wasn’t going to happen.
They say never let ’em see you sweat. That’s exactly what I did. My mom continued to push my buttons, but I stopped letting her see it. You, too can do the same. Good luck!
This past Sunday, Easter Sunday, was a white affair. White gloves and white hat. That’s what little girls are made of. If I was little, I would even have white shoes. Shinny paten leather no less! I’m all grown up now. Easter Sunday means a white hat, white gloves and white pearls! Well! My, my! I feel like a southern Belle! That’s what big girls (in high heels) are made of!
What was your Easter Sunday attire? White gloves or not?
Spring Break? Yes! A time to rest? ABSOLUTELY
NOT! Well, that was the plan. Sleep in, wake up, sit in front of the television in my pj’s and do nothing but watch court shows. Yup. That was the plan. Instead, I was out & about, moving & shakin’. I was here, I was there. I was almost everywhere. Oh, no Mr. Bill! It was all good. Will do it again, too…in a heartbeat!
What “Oh, no!” happened to you that was a good thing? Would you do it again?
I am on a sweet trip! Ooh, love to love you, sweets! Correction. I should say ooh, love how much I love you! Chocolate cake, chocolate cupcakes, candy, apple pie! Ooh, cinnamon rolls or banana bread! I just can’t get enough! She’s gotta have it! And have it I shall!
What about you?
What’s something you gotta have? and why?
